Did you Forget to Renew Your Enrolled Agent Status?

Beginning in late July, the IRS started sending letters to EAs whose enrollment status is being inactivated or terminated because of failure to renew.  EAs that did not renew for the 2013 cycle with social security numbers ending in 0, 1, 2, or 3 will have their enrollment inactivated by July 31

To maintain your enrolled agent status you must do the following:



Renew every 3 years based on last digit of SSN. You may do this                


or on






Renew your PTIN number

between October 16 – December 31 of                each year



3.  Obtain 72 hours of CE credits every three years



4.  Obtain a minimum of 16 hours per year 2 of which much be ethics



5.  Use an IRS approved continuing education provider



6.  Keep all of your contact information current
