Form 8862 - Information to Claim EIC After Disallowance

Form 8862 is required to be filed with a taxpayer’s tax return if both of the following apply:
  • The taxpayer’s claim for the Earned Income Credit was reduced or disallowed for any reason other than a math or clerical error.
  • The taxpayer would now like to claim the Earned Income Credit and they meet all of the requirements.
To access Form 8862, from the Main Menu of TaxSlayer Pro select:
  • Miscellaneous Forms
  • Information to Claim EIC after Disallowance (8862)
  • Ask the taxpayer each of the questions on the Form 8862 Menu
